MISSION

The Ministry of Local Government strives to support initiatives to create conditions for sustainable local government, poverty reduction and overall human development in Lesotho. These efforts are anchored on the synergy of policies and programmes for citizens empowerment and participation, improvement management of land and its development, decentralisation of government functions and the pursuit of appropriate rural development technologies.

The new millennium should herald our renewed commitment and dedication to the principles of the philosophy of people centred development, a strategy that will ensure the success and sustainability of our modest contribution to national development.
