He said among the activities that are being implemented include construction of five towers in different districts of the country, completion on the renovation of a work video conferencing centre as well as data centre construction in Mohale's Hoek.

Mr. Masiu highlighted that the video conference centre will be used to train the government top officials.

He mentioned that the towers are being constructed at Senqunyane in Mokhotlong, Likhoele in Mafeteng, Ha Ts'ilo in Maseru, Malimong in Berea and Thamathu in Qacha's Nek.

He further said their construction was launched by the Minister of Communications, Science and Technology, Mr. Serialong Qoo and will be completed at the end of this month.

The project is co-funded by the Lesotho government and the African Development Bank with over M12 million and it has four main components that include strengthening of core government network infrastructure, strengthening of data centres, improvement of the government E-portal and skills development.

The Lesotho e-government Infrastructure project started in 2014 and it is expected to be completed in 2018.
