TELECOM LESOTHO DATA NETWORK COUNTRY-WIDE

Tele-Com Lesotho has completed installation of Data Network for provision of digital leased lines to cover all major towns of Lesotho. Digital leased lines from 64kbps to 2,048Mbps are offered on this network (called Martis DXX). The service has been available for the past few years but only covering Maseru, Roma and Butha-Buthe. Recent expansion has covered Leribe, Maputsoe, Teyateyaneng, Mafeteng, Mohale's Hoek, Quthing, Thaba-Tseka, Qacha's Nek, Mokhotlong and Moshoeshoe I Airport. This is meant to extend business and services to all parts of Lesotho. Services can be requested from any Tele-Com Lesotho Customer Service Center.

The Network is fully managed at Networks Management Center in Maseru. Network Terminating Units (NTUs) form the integral part of the Network thus enabling faults to be accurately located and managed. This greatly reduces downtime of leased lines. Customers report faults at the 24hour Surveillance Center to minimize service disruptions at the following numbers: 311728, 326222 and 211741.

NTUs are supplied with X.21 interface and the following interfaces may be provided on request: V.24, V.35, V.36, G.703/G.704 and LAN bridge.
