The much
anticipated disciplinary hearing of Likuena coach, Tony Hey, will be held on
October 7 at Bambatha Ts'ita Sports Arena and will be open to the media.
A charge sheet sent to all the coach’s known addresses in both Germany and
South Africa, requests Hey to appear personally on October 7, failing which
the hearing process will proceed in his absence.
LEFA
President, advocate Salemane Phafane, said the executive committee has
however not yet decided on how many members of the executive will sit over
the case, where Hey is being charged with among others, failure to scout
for and recruit players for Likuena during the winter break.
Advocate Phafane said Hey will also be charged with failure to appear before
the LEFA executive committee as requested as well as failure to respond to
letters written to him by his employers and for being away from work without
permission.
Hey's South African based agent has also been notified about the recent
development as well as the Ministry of Gender and Youth, Sports and
Recreation.
The German coach has a three and half years contract and was expected to
among others, rebuild the national team for African Cup of Nations as well
as the Council of Southern Africa Football Association (COSAFA) Castle Cup
competitions.
