'CESSNA CARAVAN' ARRIVES IN THE COUNTRY

In a bid to speed up transportation of goods and people, Mountain Airways Company hired six aircrafts from Aerocare Company based in Bloemfontein, South Africa.

One of the aircrafts 'Cessna Caravan' arrived at the Moshoeshoe I International Airport on Wednesday.

According to one of the Mountain Airways Directors, Mr. Serialong Qoo, who is also a Member of Parliament for Malingoaneng Constituency No.77, the initiative is part of their efforts meant to contribute in enhancing the government's policy of speedy service delivery.

He said, "sustainable and reliable transportation is one of the key elements in a democratic country," adding that the aircraft will ferry passengers at minimal prices to areas such as Mokhotlong, Thaba-Tseka and Qacha’s nek to mention a few.

On the other hand, he said Mountain Airways will also work with the government and various stakeholders to respond to emergencies, especially in winter when people in the mountain areas are trapped by snow.

He said that Mountain Airways has formed partnership with Aerocare to ensure smooth running of the operation, noting that the intention is also to collaborate with the government in order to subsidise the community so that at the end, the country will have its own aircrafts.

Meanwhile, a representative from Aerocare said this type of aircraft (Cessna Caravan) is designed for shot field and high elevations, adding that it is a strong rugged aircraft meant to carry heavy loads.

He assured Basotho that it will work effectively because of its design as it responds well to high altitude.

Mountain Airways is a local registered company, while Aerocare is a South African based company that specialises in providing effective aircraft charter solutions in Southern Africa.
