PARTICIPATES AT AU-APRM FORUM IN ADDIS |
The Right
Honourable the Prime Minister, Mr. Pakalitha Mosisili was
among the delegates who participated at the African Union
(AU)-African Peer Review Mechanism (APRM) forum held in
Addis Ababa, Ethiopia on Thursday.
The review serves as a mirror which reflects the
shortcomings and strengths of a country and its nationals in
order to maintain good image and assist towards its
development.
Focal Point Resident Ambassador, Mr. Masuhla Leteka noted
that the forum reviewed Benin which was regarded to be
performing well in the process.
Mr. Leteka highlighted that Lesotho is among a group of five
countries well established to the review as well as in
voluntary contribution, adding that as Lesotho volunteered
to be reviewed by its peers, She is liable for review in
January next year.
Burkina Faso, Uganda and Nigeria have been scheduled to
undergo review in July this year, he said, however noting
that about 13 participating countries still lack behind in
the process.
Ghana was the first country to be reviewed.
Meanwhile, Mauritania increased the number of APRM
participating countries to 29 at the 8th APRM forum billed
in Addis Ababa Ethiopia on Thursday.
