PM PARTICIPATES AT AU-APRM FORUM IN ADDIS

The Right Honourable the Prime Minister, Mr. Pakalitha Mosisili was among the delegates who participated at the African Union (AU)-African Peer Review Mechanism (APRM) forum held in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia on Thursday.

The review serves as a mirror which reflects the shortcomings and strengths of a country and its nationals in order to maintain good image and assist towards its development.

Focal Point Resident Ambassador, Mr. Masuhla Leteka noted that the forum reviewed Benin which was regarded to be performing well in the process.

Mr. Leteka highlighted that Lesotho is among a group of five countries well established to the review as well as in voluntary contribution, adding that as Lesotho volunteered to be reviewed by its peers, She is liable for review in January next year.

Burkina Faso, Uganda and Nigeria have been scheduled to undergo review in July this year, he said, however noting that about 13 participating countries still lack behind in the process.

Ghana was the first country to be reviewed.

Meanwhile, Mauritania increased the number of APRM participating countries to 29 at the 8th APRM forum billed in Addis Ababa Ethiopia on Thursday.
