PM EXPRESSES
GRATITUDE OVER ROAD CONSTRUCTION AT LEBAKENG
CONSTITUENCY |
The Prime
Minister, Mr. Pakalitha Mosisili has expressed his gratitude
to the ministry of local government for its efforts in
constructing roads within the Lebakeng constituency.
Mr. Mosisili was inspecting road construction works in
Lebakeng on Monday where he was accompanied by the Minister
of Local Government and Chieftainship Affairs, Dr Ponts'o
Sekatle and senior officials of that ministry.
The Prime Minister said the Ministry of Local Government is
working hard to implement government policies that include,
speedy service delivery, saying construction of rural roads
is one example of uplifting the lives of the rural people.
Mr. Mosisili said upon completion of these roads, there will
be free movement of people and of vehicles to mountainous
areas hence simplifying the lives of community members that
were forced to ferry ill people to health centres and their
deceased to cemeteries on wooden platters.
He commended the commitment and hard work that labourers are
showing on the road construction.
The Prime Minister also commended the Ministry of Public
Works for deploying its officers to assist with their
expertise on the roads construction, further saying the
initiative will speed up the construction process.
Meanwhile, a 20km road from ‘Melikane in the Tsoelike
constituency to Lebakeng constituency has been constructed.
The Ministry of Local Government has recently bought
machinery worth M30 Million for construction of rural roads
in all the districts.
