PM TO ANSWER
QUESTIONS FROM OPPOSITION LEADERS |
The Head of
Government, the Prime Minister Mr. Pakalitha Mosisili will
answer questions from leaders of political parties on first
Thursdays of every month.
This was disclosed by the Deputy Prime Minister and the
leader of the House, Mr. Lesao Lehohla in a statement he
made in the National Assembly on Wednesday.
Mr. Lehohla said this arrangement is in line with standing
orders laws and regulations of the House, adding that the
public is free to attend the question and answer sessions.
To enhance implementation of the initiative, the Leader of
the House told the House that he met with other political
leaders that include Mr. Moeketse Malebo of the Marematlou
Freedom Party (MFP), the Basotho National Party (BNP), Major
General Metsing Lekhanya last Thursday.
Other leaders included Lesotho People's Congress (LPC), Mr.
Kelebone Maope, National Independent Party (NIP) Mr. Motseki
Motikoe, Lesotho Workers Party (LWP) Mr. Macaefa Billy,
Basotho Batho Democratic Party (BBDP), Mr. Geremane
Ramathebane, Popular Front for Democracy (PFD) Advocate
Lekhetho Rakuoane, Basotholand Congress Party (BCP), Mr.
Sekoala Toloane and Dr. Khauhelo Raditapole of the
Basotholand African Congress (BAC).
He said the talks were mainly on new arrangements for the
leaders of political parties to meet with the opposition
parties regularly to address issues of national interest.
Mr. Lehohla said such meetings will be arranged in such a
way that opposition leaders could meet with Prime Minister
individually or as a group.
