APPOINTED LESOTHO HIGH COMMISSIONER TO SA |
His Majesty
King Letsie III commissioned Mrs. 'Matlotliso Ntoane as new
Lesotho’s High Commissioner to South Africa at the occasion
held at the Royal Palace in Maseru on Thursday.
Mrs. Ntoane is the former Deputy Principal Secretary in the
Ministry of Finance and Development Planning.
In his remarks, His Majesty urged the new High Commissioner
to deliver her duties as assigned, saying she is charged and
entrusted to maintain the long standing bonds of friendship
that exist between Lesotho and South Africa.
He wished her success during her tenure of office, saying
Mrs. Ntoane is expected to represent the Lesotho Government
with loyalty and serve Basotho with honour in her capacity
as the high commissioner.
Accepting the assignment, Mrs. Ntoane pledged her commitment
to work towards the development of the already existing
relations between the two countries.
She said she will perform her duties with dedication and as
assigned.
She also thanked Lesotho government for giving her the
privilege to represent it in South Africa, adding that she
will continue to request support from government for quality
execution of services in South Africa.
Mrs. Ntoane was born in May 12, 1966 and joined the public
service in 1989, where she worked in various ministries such
as of Health, Local Government and Public Service.
She chaired the Lesotho Revenue Authority (LRA) Board for
six years and also represented Lesotho government in Lesotho
National Development Corporation (LNDC) and Imperial fleet
services boards.
