MR KHOMARI
SWORN-IN AS SENATOR |
Former Director
of Corporate Services at the Lesotho Communications
Authority (LCA), Mr. Ts'eliso Khomari was sworn-in as a new
Member of Senate on Wednesday.
Welcoming the new Senator, Member of the house, Mrs. 'M'aphoka
Motoboli said Mr. Khomari has been a prominent athlete over
the past years, and this indicates that he possesses
leadership skills.
She advised him to always participate in discussions
whenever there is a motion as his views will contribute
towards the country’s development.
Lieutenant General Makhula Mosakeng, on the other hand urged
Mr. Khomari to be guided by the Constitution, saying he
should always maintain truth and loyalty in his actions and
speech.
Sharing same sentiments, the Principal Chief of Leribe,
Chief Joel Molapo urged the new members to be guided by own
principles and to make neutral decisions that are not
politically biased.
In an interview, Mr. Khomari expressed his intention to
execute his duties as expected and that he believes that God
the Almighty will guide him at all times.
The 54-year-old Mr. Khomari holds Masters Degree in Public
Administration and Political Science. He pursued his studies
at the National University of Lesotho (NUL) and the South
California University. He is married and blessed with four
children.
The swearing-in of Mr. Khomari follows that of Mr. ‘Mikea
Maholela last month. The two Senators took oath to fill
vacancies in the House of Senate after the death of
Professor Zachariah Mats'ela and former Assistant Minister
of Gender, Sports, Youth and Recreation, Mr. Lekhetho
Phakisi, who died in 2007.
