MPs OBSERVE
MOMENT OF SILENCE FOR LATE MEMBER |
Members of the
National Assembly and Senate observed a moment of silence at
the opening of National Assembly following announcement of
death of the Member of Parliament for Rothe Constituency.
The National Assembly resumed work on Wednesday after a
short adjournment for Easter vacation.
Addressing the House, Speaker of the National Assembly, Ms.
Ntlhoi Motsamai said the late, Mr. Molebatsi Ishmael
Makhebesela and Member of Parliament for Rothe died on
Saturday March 29 after a short illness.
Mr. Makhebesela will be laid to rest at his home at Rothe on
April 19.
Meanwhile, Ms. Motsamai welcomed ‘INGWENYAMA yema Swati’,
the Queen as well as their esteemed entourage currently in
the country.
At the same occasion, His Majesty King Mswati III addressed
Members of Parliament at the joint setting of Parliament,
which was historic in its nature as it was for the first
time ever, head of Swaziland Kingdom delivered a speech in
Parliament of Lesotho.
He is accompanied by one of his wives and some members of
the royal family as well as cabinet ministers and government
officials.
King Mswati is on a three-day state visit and will visit
several developmental projects, tourist attraction sites as
well as historic places during his stay.
