HER MAJESTY
PRESENTS AWARDS TO ANGLICANS |
Her Majesty
Queen 'Masenate Mohato Seeiso presented awards to 15
Anglicans at the 20th anniversary of the Anglican Women's
Fellowship (AWF) in the Diocese of Lesotho celebrated at St.
James Anglican Cathedral church in Maseru on Sunday.
They were recognised for their contribution to the existence
of the fellowship and they included among others, retired
Anglican Church Bishop, Bishop Philip Mokuku and Reverend
Israel Qwelane who laid ground to ensure that the
establishment of the guild in Lesotho is a success.
As appreciation to the Her Majesty’s presence at the
celebration, she (Her Majesty Queen) also received an award
from the same fellowship in return.
Addressing members of the guild and the congregation in
general, Reverend Qwelane advised AWF members to take their
responsibility and ensure that they are positive and
together in building the guild.
He said their duties should be exemplary to that of a Good
Samaritan who after meeting with Jesus brought other people
to Him for the word of God.
He advised them to go out and bring others into the guild
for a dramatic transformation.
AWF Chaplin in Lesotho, Reverend Michael Khang congratulated
the Fellowship for celebrating 20th anniversary, saying they
should join hands and ensure that they promote and improve
the guild.
AWF in Lesotho was established in 1988 by 19 women at
Cathedral of St Mary's and St James and currently the
fellowship has more than 500 members from different
districts of the country.
The historic event was marked by a prayer service led by
Cathedral Dean Reverend Duma.
It was attended by the Provincial President of Anglican
Church in Southern Africa based in Cape Town, AWF members
from Lesotho and South Africa.
