JAPAN GRANTS
LESOTHO WITH OVER M14 MILLION |
Japan has
granted Lesotho with over M14 million to support import of
products to promote economic structural adjustment in the
country.
Adjustment efforts of the Lesotho government are implemented
under the agreement between the World Bank and International
Monetary Fund through the initiative of the fourth Tokyo
International Conference on African Development at which
Japan committed to double official assistance to Africa by
2012.
The Embassy of Japan in Pretoria has stated in a press
release that Japan government donated money under its
Non-project Grant Aid (NPGA), while products to be purchased
will include among others, agricultural machinery for the
development of Lesotho's agricultural sector.
A signing ceremony of exchanged notes and related documents
will be performed at the Embassy on Friday by Ambassador of
Japan to Lesotho Mr. Akihiko Furuya and Lesotho's Charge
d'affaires, Ms. Mats'eliso Kumi.
