GENDER
MINISTER RECIEVES IT EQUIPMENT |
The Minister of
Gender, Mrs. 'Mathabiso Lepono received ten computers and
printers donated to the Ministry of Gender, Youth, Sports
and Recreation by the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA)
at the ceremony held at United Nations-House in Maseru on
Thursday.
When receiving the equipment, Mrs. Lepono thanked UNFPA for
donating the equipment to her ministry, saying it will help
improve and speed up provision of services relating to
gender.
She added that the equipment will also assist Gender
Officers to communicate and exchange information quickly at
district and national level.
Mrs. Lepono said the Ministry will also use the equipment to
enhance implementation of advocacy programme in the
districts.
UNFPA Representative in Lesotho, Dr Lillian Marutle said the
agency is committed to support the Lesotho government to
promote gender related issues for the protection of human
rights.
She expressed the need to educate communities about gender
related issues hence to address gender inequalities.
UNFPA is an international development agency that promotes
the right of every woman, man and child to enjoy a healthy
life and equal opportunity.
