The Minister of Gender, Mrs. 'Mathabiso Lepono received ten computers and printers donated to the Ministry of Gender, Youth, Sports and Recreation by the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) at the ceremony held at United Nations-House in Maseru on Thursday.

When receiving the equipment, Mrs. Lepono thanked UNFPA for donating the equipment to her ministry, saying it will help improve and speed up provision of services relating to gender.

She added that the equipment will also assist Gender Officers to communicate and exchange information quickly at district and national level.

Mrs. Lepono said the Ministry will also use the equipment to enhance implementation of advocacy programme in the districts.

UNFPA Representative in Lesotho, Dr Lillian Marutle said the agency is committed to support the Lesotho government to promote gender related issues for the protection of human rights.

She expressed the need to educate communities about gender related issues hence to address gender inequalities.

UNFPA is an international development agency that promotes the right of every woman, man and child to enjoy a healthy life and equal opportunity.
