FORMER LESOTHO PM'S WIFE IS LATE

The wife of former Prime Minister of Lesotho, Mrs. 'Maneo Mokhehle died after long illness at her home at Maseru East last Saturday.

Mrs. Mokhehle is the wife of the late Dr Ntsu Mokhehle who is the founder of Basutoland Congress Party (BCP) and the ruling party, Lesotho Congress for Democracy (LCD).

A family's spokesperson, Mr. Thaele Mokhehle officially announced the death in an interview at Maseru East on Tuesday.

He said the former First Lady had suffered from stroke for the past eleven years and that she died at the age of 85 years.

Mr. Mokhehle said though the date of her funeral will be announced at a later stage, the family has arranged that her remains will be laid to rest at St. Agnes, Teyateyaneng in the Berea district where her husband was buried.

Mrs. Mokhehle was born on August 13, 1923 in Mohale's hoek. She was a nurse by profession and had served in several government hospitals in the country.
The former First Lady was survived by a son and two daughters with four grandchildren.
