Leader of the
Basotuland Congress Party (BCP), Mr. Sekoala Toloane died
last Sunday after a short illness in one of the private
hospital in Bloemfontein, South Africa.
A family spokesperson, Mrs. Nthabiseng Maleke said Mr.
Toloane was suffering from internal bleeding caused by
ulcer, and that he had also been diagnosed with high blood
pressure and diabetes.
Mr. Toloane will be laid to rest on Saturday of August 02 at
Ha Raboletse, Makhalaneng which is 45 kilometres south of
the Maseru district.
He has been an active member of the BCP since 1970. In 1993,
he was elected into the National Assembly to represent the
Makhaleng Constituency and in 1994 was elected to the
Cabinet under the leadership of the then Prime Minister, the
late Dr Ntsu Mokhehle.
He was Member of Parliament and Chairperson of Public
Accounts Committee.
Mr. Toloane was born at Ha Raboletse, Makhalaneng in 1942.
He is the first son of the late Mr. Ts'epe and Mrs. 'Masekoala
Toloane.
He is survived by wife, three sons and six grandchildren.
