Community Resource Center in collaboration with Bana Pele
Youth will conduct a one day rapid test for HIV/AIDS at the
center on Wednesday, 24th January, 2007.
Coordinator of the Center Mr.Ts'abela 'Mabathoana said it is
aimed to raise the community's awareness on HIV/AIDS so that
the youth can take better care of themselves.
He said the tests will grant the youth an opportunity to
know their status while still healthy so that they can take
precautions and avoid becoming ill.
He showed that people who will test positive will be advised
to visit clinics as well as the St. Joseph's Hospital where
their CD count can be done in order to see if they qualify
for antiretroviral drugs.
Mr. 'Mabathoana said they are performing this activity in
line with the Government's policy of the Know Your Status
Campaign.
Bana Pele Youth and Community Resource Center were
established in 2006, with the purpose to protect the healthy
and holistic development of young people.
