WASA SIGNS FOR
MASERU PERI-URBAN PROJECT |
Water and
Sewerage Authority (WASA) and Unit Construction Engineering
have on Tuesday signed a two year contract of Phase II of
the Maseru Peri-Urban Project.
The project, which costs M104 million, is funded by the Arab
Bank for Economic Development of Africa, it is meant to
extent WASA's urban areas.
Acting Director of Engineering, Mr. Lira Mohosho, said the
project will cover Northern and Southern parts of Maseru. He
said the Northern areas include Khubetsoana, Mabote,
Bobojane, Ts'osane, Sekhutlong, Ha Ts'iu and Ts'enola while
the southern will cover Ratjomose, Ha Tsolo, part of Ha
Chala and Ha Seleso.
Mr. Mohosho said the work includes the extension of the
water supply pipes network, upgrading and increasing the
existing pumping facilities as well as reinforcing the
existing storage reservoirs.
Meanwhile, Phase I of the project had covered Ha Leqele,
Matala, Ha Abia, Lithoteng and Masianokeng.
WASA is mandated to provide water services to the urban
areas of the entire country.
