The Department of Cooperatives in the Ministry of Trade and Industry, Marketing and Cooperatives will commemorate Cooperatives day on June 27 at Thaba-Tseka Pitso Ground.

The District Cooperatives Officer, Ms. Lerato Ramarumo said the celebration seeks to commemorate cooperatives day marked worldwide, stating that event further intends to encourage rural communities to work as registered groups and so to attract the market.

She said as part of the celebration, producers and manufacturers from the 42 cooperative societies in the district will display their products that include handicrafts, textile products, crops and vegetables.

This year's celebration theme is “Co-operative values and principles for corporate social responsibility.”
