TELECOM LESOTHO LAUNCHES ADSL

Telecom Lesotho launched the Asymmetric Digital Subscriber (ADSL) at an occasion held at Ha Mabote on Sunday.

Speaking at the event, Chief Sales and Marketing Officer Mr. Mosuoe Mapetla said ADSL service will enable the community of Ha Mabote to access Internet at their homes and in their businesses.

He said ADSL is a data communication technology that enables faster data transmission over copper telephone lines.

He mentioned that the speed of ADSL is faster than that of a regular Dial Up connection and it enables an individual to receive calls while connected to the Internet.

He showed that currently, ADSL connection is found in the district of Maseru in areas that include Thetsane Industrial area, Ha Matala within the Central Business District (CBD) and recently at Ha Mabote.

And the Product Marketing Manager, Mrs. Nontuthuzelo Mda said ADSL can be used by their customers connected to Telecom Lesotho Coppet Telephone Lines with numbers which starts by 22 and it bears a great advantage as customers pay a fixed monthly fee depending on the package chosen.

At this occasion, Telecom Lesotho donated ten sponge mattresses, ten Aranda sleeping blankets and five bags of Maize Meal and Wheat Meal to the Centre for the Poor and the Less Privileged (CPLP) located at Sekamaneng owned by Sisters of Charity in Lesotho.

Mr. Mapetla said the donation is an initiative to support Vulnerable Children and Orphans, and it is another way of showing their social responsibility to the community.

In accepting the gifts, Sister Victoria Khoele of Charity Sisters thanked Telecom Lesotho for making a contribution in the lives of Vulnerable and Orphaned children as they are housed and fed by the Centre.

She said the Centre was established in 2000, and presently they take care of 61 children between the ages of 3 and eighteen years old, and in addition, CPLP supports another 34 vulnerable children in the districts of Maseru and Berea.

Telecom Lesotho aims to provide a widest range of services with World Standard quality to customers at affordable prices.
