LEAVE FOR SIFE WORLD CUP IN NEW YORK |
Seven students of
the Lerotholi Polytechnic (LP) will leave the country on
Wednesday, for New York in the United States of America.
LP Rector, Mr. Tsietsi Lebakae told LENA in an interview
that the students will participate in the 2007 Students In
Free Enterprise (SIFE) movement world cup to be held in New
York.
SIFE is a global non-profit making movement working in
partnership with business and higher learning Institutions,
Mr. Lebakae said.
He noted that the movement establishes teams of higher
education Institutions campuses, which in turn are
challenged to develop community outreach projects based on
the following themes: Market Economics, Success Skills,
Entrepreneurship, Financial Literacy and Business Ethics.
Mr. Lebakae outlined that LP students won the competition
and became this year's champions with their projects hence
why they will compete internationally.
Other higher Institutions that were competing in this
movement in Lesotho include the National University of
Lesotho, Lesotho College of Education and Centre for
Accounting Studies.
Founded in 1905 by the late Chief Lerotholi Letsie, LP has
over 800 students.
The polytechnic offers Diploma in Mechanical Engineering,
