Lesotho Bank has presented a cow worth M10 000 to His
Majesty King Letsie III for the celebration of his 44th
birthday at the event held at Matsieng on Thursday.
When handing over the cow, Standard Lesotho Bank Acting
Manager, Mr. Dave Rose, said the gift is aimed at
recognizing the vital role that the King plays in building
and uniting the nation. He added that that stability
enhances the economic growth and development of the country
as well as its people.
Mr. Rose alluded that the cow has been bought from Free
State in South Africa, adding that it is a symbol of wishing
the King a wonderful and happiness during his birthday.
When receiving the gift, the King expressed his gratitude to
the Bank for giving him a cow as a gift.
“It is useful as it will bear many other calves in the next
coming years but most importantly it will benefit my family
and those around me,” he said.
The King therefore thanked the bank for not only taking
money from people, but also giving out.
His Majesty celebrates his birthday on 17th July 2007.
