NATIONAL ROADS
NEED ASSESSMENT UNDERWAY - MINISTER CHAKELA |
The Ministry of
Public Works and Transport is to engage consultants to
undertake national roads needs assessment throughout the
country.
Responding to questions in the National Assembly on
Wednesday, Mr. Ts'eole Chakela, said the move will assist
the Ministry to have a prioritized list of roads based on
needs and availability of funds in order for such roads to
be constructed.
'When funds are available, the construction of roads will be
carried out in stages of their sequential order,' he
highlighted.
He therefore, could not give the time frame as to when will
the roads be constructed, but said it was the intention of
his Ministry to construct roads for the public to carryout
their daily activities freely.
The Minister was responding to a question by Member of
Parliament for Thaba Ts'oeu No. 49, Mr. Senngoe Monyetsane
M.P about the need for a road from Ha Seeiso to Ha Thamae in
the Mafeteng district.
