Her Majesty Queen ‘Masenate Mohato Bereng Seeiso is expected to officiate at the Mafeteng District Cultural competitions to be held on September 22.

In an interview, Senior Education Officer, Mrs. ‘Mamotheba Mokhokhoba said primary and high schools within the ten resource centres in the district will compete in cultural activities in preparation for Morija Arts and Cultural Festival (MACUFE) to be staged at Morija in October.

The competition is aimed at selecting teams to represent both primary and high school at the MACUFE.

“Competitions for both primary and high schools will be on mohobelo, ntlamo, mokhibo, litolobonya, drama and traditional musical instruments”, she added.

Mrs. Mokhokhoba noted that schools’ cultural competitions are held annually with the intention to promote young people's love and participation in cultural activities.

Competing schools will be drawn from the resource centres of Ribaneng, Matelile, Emmaus, Motsekuoa, Mount Olivet, St. Gerald, St. John’s, Mohlalefi, T’supane and Mapotu.
