The Prime
Minister Mr. Pakalitha Mosisili left the country on Friday,
for Langkawi, Malaysia on official visit.
The Prime Minister will participate at the Smart Partnership
Dialogue to be held in Langkawi, Malaysia from Sunday.
The dialogue will embrace three prime themes: Poverty, Human
Capital and Capacity building.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Relations,
Mr. Mohlabi Tsekoa said the Langkawi International Dialogue
will represent the next phase in the robust emergence of
Smart Partnership as an idea that binds nations within an
integrated approach to development.
Mr. Tsekoa iterated that the theme for this year seeks to
create human capital development, which encompasses
practices to develop intellectual capital, skills capital,
social capital and entrepreneurial capital for individuals.
'The dialogue will also build on the vigorous success of the
previous dialogue held in Maseru in 2005,' he added.
Topics to be discussed include: Smart Partnership Approach
and Integrated Development, Networking with Malaysia and
Human Capital.
The Prime Minister’s delegation includes the First Lady Mrs.
‘Mathato Mosisili, the Minister of Foreign Affairs Mr.
Mohlabi Tsekoa, Minister of Trade and Industry, Cooperative
and Marketing Mr. Popane Lebesa and Principal Secretaries
from the two ministries.
After the dialogue, the delegation will proceed to Japan
where the Prime Minister will officially inaugurate the
Lesotho Embassy.
