MOURNS DEATH OF BNP MEMBER |
Members of the
National Assembly mourned the death of Basotho National Party (BNP)
representative in the National Assembly, Mr. Phale Mokoena,
who died in a car accident on Friday.
Speaker of the National Assembly, Ms. Ntlhoi Motsamai broke
the news in the House on Monday.
However, she could not divulge more details regarding the
funeral arrangements.
Mr. Mokoena's death, she said comes barely five months after
the death of a Member of Parliament for Mekaling constituency
in Mohale's Hoek, who died due to illness in May this year.
Mr. Mokoena came into the seventh parliament under the
banner of BNP, contesting at Seqonoka constituency, but lost
to the Alliance of Congress Parties (ACP), Mr. Kelebone
Maope. Hence he became a Member of Parliament through
Proportional Representation (PR).
His successor is likely to be named by the party soon after
