The Department of Agriculture through Nutrition Office in Qacha's nek has embarked on nutrition campaigns to be held in different areas of the district.

The District Nutritionist, Mr. Lesesa Morojele said the campaigns that started at Sehlabathebe on Wednesday (yesterday) will proceed to Ha-Ts’episo on Friday and ends at Qanya on Monday next week.

He said the campaigns are aimed at sensitizing community on breastfeeding and nutrition for pregnant women.

He noted that the initiative follows the office’s realization that most of the children in the district suffer from malnutrition that he said is caused by poor nutrition.

Expected to attend the campaigns include: community councilors, area nutritionists, women and members of support group in the areas.

Similar initiative has been undertaken in Quthing.
