NATIONAL COACHES SHARPEN SKILLS WITH FA

The Lesotho Football Association (LEFA) in conjunction with England Football Association (FA) have organised an elite International Football Coaching License course starting on September 18 to 27 at Bambatha Ts'ita Sports Arena.

In an interview, LEFA Youth and Women Technical Director, Mr. Seephephe 'Mochine' Matete said the course's objective is to equip local national team coaches as well as elite coaches with modern coaching techniques.

He noted that FA has more advanced coaching methods, which is players opinionated based than coaches imposing their ideas on the players.

'The new method of coaching allows players to express their views on how to approach the game better and not be told by the coaches how to play,' he remarked.

Mochine also added that England and Lesotho play more or less similar formations of 4-4-2 and believed that FA facilitators will be most suitable to guide the local coaches.

FA will incur the course expenses that include course materials, return air tickets from England to Lesotho and their accommodation in a hotel while LEFA will only cover meals and accommodation of the participants.

Participants will be awarded certificates of participation at the end of the course. The course is the first of its kind to be staged in the country.

Meanwhile, the Technical Director said he will take advantage of the course to adopt Lesotho's coaching philosophy in order to have uniformity and unique way of playing by all the local teams.

He said the idea is to make the senior national team's job easier as coaches at club level will be doing the same thing.

On the other hand, the Technical Director and Makoanyane XI head coach Mr. Lehlohonolo Thotanyana have just returned from England where they underwent a European Football Association (EUFA) B License for three weeks.
