MINISTER TO LAUNCH PPPUE PROGRAMME

The Minister of Local Government, Dr Ponts'o Sekatle is expected to officially launch the newly established Maseru City Council (MCC) project namely Public Private Partnership for Urban
Environment (PPPUE) programme on Tuesday next week at 'Manthabiseng Convention Centre.

PPPUE programme is a five-year project aimed at improving management of solid waste in areas where MCC operates. It is made up of five local companies and one from South Africa.

MCC Programme Manager, Mr. Lehlomela Mahlaha said their partnership with private and public sectors is a step ahead for MCC to ensure that people live in a tidy and healthy environment for promotion of good health.

He noted that keeping an environment clean is not MCC's responsibility alone but of the entire society, saying that this project would only become a success if residents work hand in hand with MCC in managing waste.

Senior Government Officials, MCC staff and the public are expected to attend.
