MINISTER TO
LAUNCH LAND REHABILITATION PROJECT |
The Minister of
Forestry and Land Reclamation Mr. Ralechate ‘Mokose will
launch a-one-year land rehabilitation project at Qomo-qomong
on Wednesday.
The objective of the project is to fight unemployment,
hunger and poverty, as members of the community to engage in
the project will each receive M860.00 after 20 working days.
The District Forestry Coordinator, Mr. Liphapang Tjaoane
said the project to be carried out in five constituencies of
the district entails water and soil conservation activities.
He said 133 people will be recruited in each constituency
and beneficiaries will rotate after every 20 working days so
that the project will benefit other community members.
She said the activities to be undertaken in each
constituency have been initiated by the community through
their community councils. They include donga rehabilitation,
digging of irrigation dams and grass re-seeding.
Quthing has five Constituencies that are Qhoali, Mount
Moorosi, Sebapala, Tele and Moyeni.
