HIS MAJESTY
CALLS FOR NATION TO PRAY FOR RAIN |
His Majesty King Letsie III has appealed to heads of
churches, chiefs and the entire nation to dedicate three
Sundays to pray for rain in the country.
In his message over the matter on Monday, His Majesty King
set aside three consecutive Sundays starting on September 23
until October 07 to be dedicated to prayer for rains.
"As everyone is aware that the current drought is rife and
has spread throughout the country, plants in general,
animals as well as people are thirsty and need rains for
survival", he said.
A special request has already been made to the Christian
Council of Lesotho (CCL) to convey the message to their
respective congregations to honour the appeal.
His Majesty urged all Basotho to go to various churches on
the said dates and jointly ask the almighty for rains, and
to thank him for all the grace he has to all during these
hard times of drought and hunger.
Lesotho has experienced severe drought since the rainfall
season from January this year.
However, the recent climate experts report from Southern
Africa Development Community (SADC) have predicted that from
October to March 2008, most of the SADC region including
Lesotho is likely to receive good rains.
