LIKUENA DRAWN
AGAINST TOUGH TEAMS IN AFCON, WORLD CUP QUALIFIERS |
Lesotho's
senior national side, Likuena will play against tough teams
in the 2008 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) and 2010 world cup
qualifiers such as Gabon, Libya and Ghana.
The draw was conducted in Durban, South Africa on Sunday
where Lesotho is in group E.
Likuena will play against much experienced teams since the
three have in the past reached the finals of AFCON, while
Ghana has also went as far as playing in the 2006 World cup
held in Germany.
There are 12 groups consisting of four teams each, and the
winner in each group will automatically qualify for the
world cup final, while eight best runners up will go for
another round to determine which four nations go through to
the finals.
Africa has been allocated five places in the world cup
including the host country, South Africa, which has already
qualified as the hosts.
Meanwhile, Likuena will play an international friendly match
against South Africa's Bafana Bafana in Germiston, South
Africa on Tuesday night of November 27.
