LESOTHO JUDGE
ATTENDS SESSION ON HUMAN RIGHTS |
Lesotho High
Court Judge, Justice Kelello Guni is currently attending the
5th session of the African Court on Human Rights and
People's rights in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
Justice Guni is among eleven (11) Judges of the African
Court on Human Rights and People's Rights whose
objective is to provide a renewed impetus for the
development and growth of human rights culture in the
African continent.
Judges attending the session were sworn into office on 02nd
July 2006 after being elected at the eighth ordinary session
of the executive council of the African Union (AU), held in
Khartoum, Sudan on 22nd January 2006.
The judges were elected from Lesotho, Algeria, Burkina Faso,
South Africa, Rwanda, Senegal, Ghana, Burundi, Libya and
Uganda. They are knowledgeable in the fields of
international and human rights law.
The ongoing session will be completed on Thursday 14th June
2007.
