JUSTICE KHEOLA
HAILED AS A BRAVE PERSON |
The Deputy
Prime Minister has described the former Chief Justice Lebona
Kheola as a brave person, who delivered justice fairly and
without favour to all.
Mr. Lesao Lehohla said this when passing condolences at the
memorial service of the late Chief Justice Kheola in Maseru
on Wednesday.
He said the deceased worked hard to ensure that the
constitution is protected for peace and stability in the
country.
He urged law practitioners to deliver justice accordingly
and ensure that the legal system of Lesotho improves.
When passing condolences on behalf of the Judges of the High
Court, Justice Kelello Guni said the late chief justice was
a quite and soft spoken person, who could not be easily
intimidated despite dwelling situation in the office of the
chief justice.
She described him as an open book for everyone to read,
adding that he worked tirelessly to ensure that the legal
system of Lesotho promotes women in decision making
positions.
The former chief justice was born in Bethlehem, South Africa
in 1935 and died on October 30 in 2007 after suffering from
diabetes.
He was a teacher before he joined the law fraternity.
He will be laid to rest at Ha Mabine, Makhoakhoeng in the
Butha-Buthe district on Friday this week.
