HIS MAJESTY
ARRIVES FROM CUBA |
His Majesty
King Letsie III arrived from his state visit in Cuba on
Monday at Moshoeshoe I International Airport, where he was
met by Her Majesty Queen 'Masenate Mohato Bereng Seeiso and
the Prime Minister, Mr. Pakalitha Mosisili.
His Majesty and his entourage that included Ministers of
Foreign Affairs and International Relations, Mr. Mohlabi
Tsekoa, Gender and Youth, Sports and Recreation, Mrs. 'Mathabiso
Lepono, Health and Social Welfare, Dr Mphu Ramatlapeng,
Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly, Mr. Sephiri
Motanyane and Principal Chief of Leribe Chief Joel Mots'oene
took a state visit to Cuba since October 18.
While in Cuba, His Majesty the King visited several places
that included International School of Physical education,
where about 12 Basotho students are studying,
The aim of the visit was to strengthen the already existing
bilateral relations between the two countries.
Cuba and Lesotho have signed cooperation on sports and
health issues in which Cuba assists Lesotho with Medical
doctors and coaches in boxing, basketball, Volleyball and
athletics.
Among those who welcomed the King included judges of the
High Court, Speaker of the National Assembly, some cabinet
ministers, Diplomatic Missions and some government high
ranking officials.
