The Government Secretary (GS) and Principal Secretaries (PS) from nine ministries will take a conducted tour of Thamathu area in Qacha’s nek district on Thursday this week.

According to the District Administrator, Mr. Motsamai Mokoto, the GS and PS’s will be assessing development needs of the area.

Mr. Mokoto said the tour follows the government’s realization that Thamathu is one of the least developed areas with very little access to services.

He indicated that while at Thamathu, the visiting party will meet some of the heads of government departments, chiefs and community councilors of the area as well as officials from the Maluti Drakensburg Transfontier Project (MDTP).

PS’s will be from the Ministries of Health and Social Welfare, Tourism, Environment and Culture, Natural Resources, Finance and Development Planning, Gender, Youth, Sports and Recreation, Education and Training, Forestry and Land Reclamation and Agriculture and Food Security.
