GOVERNMENT AND
PUBLIC MOURN FOR MEKALING MP |
The Minister of
Natural Resources says the death of Mr. Molefe Konyana, a
Member of Parliament for Mekaling is a great loss to the
government and nation.
He was passing condolences on behalf of the government at a
memorial service held at Mohale’shoek parish of Lesotho
Evangelical Church on Wednesday.
Mr. Monyane Moleleki said young and brilliant as the
deceased was, the government and the community he
represented in parliament had expected to benefit much from
him.
He called on Mekaling community to pray God to help them to
elect properly during by elections.
At the same occasion, the Speaker of the National Assembly,
Ms. Ntlhoi Motsamai said due to his (deceased) eagerness to
do work, he had been elected into the business committee of
parliament.
He said his contributions in parliament showed his desire to
see improvement in lives of Basotho especially Mekaling
community.
The First Lady, Cabinet Ministers, Clerk of Senate, and
Members of Parliament for Mohale’s hoek district and the
public attended the service.
The late Mr. Konyana died of meningitis at Scott hospital in
Morija on 28th May 2007 and will be laid to rest at
Maphuts’eng Ha Makhube on Saturday.
He died at the age of 34 and leaves a wife and two children.
