The
country's unique mountainous topology has attracted Germans
to come and test their vehicles in the country starting on
February 10 to 16.
In an interview, T Connexion Marketing and Tours Company's
Director Mr. Thabo Maretlane says the Germans want to test
four vehicles at Mahlasela, Oxbow and 'Moteng in the high
altitude of the country.
He said this is a gesture for his company to promote tourism
as well as tourists attraction places in the mountain areas,
adding that Basotho cars have been hired to ferry the
Germans to these places.
“The cars will be tested their actual performance on speed
and endurance at sea level and high altitude,” he added.
Mr. Maretlane said Lesotho's unique feature has many
advantages as tourists like visiting such places and
beautiful scenery like, adding that the Germans will be
staying at Oxbow lodge for the duration of their stay in the
country.
He said the Germans used to test their vehicles in South
Africa's Upington in the Northern Cape where it is dry and
in Port Elizabeth where it is at sea level, and has invited
the Germans to try it at the high altitude as well.
This will be for the first time the German cars are being
tested in the country and if successful, more European car
manufacturing companies will be invited to test their
vehicles in order to test their actual performance.
