DA URGES
MOTORISTS NOT TO RISK LIVES |
The Acting
District Administrator in Qacha’s nek, Mr. Majoro Maema has
appealed to motorists and pedestrians to be cautious and
halt their journeys to other districts because of the snowy
weather.
The snow that started snowing on Tuesday night continues to
fall.
Mr. Maema expressed concern that some motorists have a bad
tendency of ignoring the snowy and unfavorable weather
conditions, saying that in most cases they end up trapped in
other areas before getting to their destinations.
He noted that it is dangerous to drive in this kind of
weather, appealing to all motorists especially public
transport drivers to stop the act as failure to do so
impacts negatively to government’s resources that are
sometimes used in relieving such trapped people back to
their families.
He has also appealed to the public to stay indoors and avoid
leaving burning fires at night in the house as they might
cause accidents.
This is the second snowfall experienced in the district this
year following the recent one that fell last month.
