Prince Lerotholi |
Prince
Lerotholi Mohato Bereng Seeiso, the third born in the Royal
family was baptised as “David” by Archbishop Bernard
Mohlalisi at the Roman Catholic Church, St. Luis at Matsieng
on Saturday, 2nd June, 2007.
Speaking at the Mass service, the head of Roman Catholic
Church, Archbishop Mohlalisi said the day was important to
the Royal family for two reasons as it marked the spiritual
birth of the Prince Lerotholi David Mohato Bereng Seeiso
which coincides with the birth-day of Queen 'Masenate Mohato
Seeiso.
The Archbishop said the baptism of Prince Lerotholi confirms
him in Jesus Christ’s family as his second birth by Holy
Water and Spirit. He pointed out that it is the
responsibility of his parents to bring the Prince up under
the Christianity principles as he is still young and does
not know what it means to be baptised.
During the whole baptising processes, Prince Lerotholi who
was named David, was calm as he was sleeping comfortably. He
was brought to the alter for baptism by his mother Queen 'Masenate
Mohato Bereng Seeiso accompanied by his father King Letsie
III and his Godfather, Principal Chief of Likhoele Chief
Lerotholi Seeiso.
Various Basotho groups graced the day with performances of
traditional songs and dances like Mokhibo, Nldlamo and
choral music as well as praises to the applause and
ululations of old women.
Prince Lerotholi David Mohato Bereng Seeiso was born to King
Letsie III and Queen 'Masenate Mohato Bereng Seeiso on April
18, 2007. He is the third child in the Royal Family, born
