BUDDIE TOP 4 FINALS CALLED OFF

Buddie Top 4 finals featuring Matlama, Lesotho Mounted Police Service (LMPS), Lesotho Correctional Services (LCS) and Lesotho Defence Force (LDF) have been called off indefinitely.

The finals were supposed to take place on Saturday and Sunday at the Setsoto stadium during the weekend.

Breaking the news to LENA, Lesotho Football Association (LEFA) Administrator, Mr. Mokhosi Mohapi said Matlama had requested that the finals be postponed since the club has three players in the national under 23 currently in South Africa for the Eight Nations Tournament.

He said according to Article 12 (d) of the Premier League Management Committee consolidated Rules and Regulations of 2003, they had no option but to call off the finals.

'The Rules and Regulations say a club with three or more players in the national team may apply for their matches to be postponed,' he added.

Mr. Mohapi said he has already contacted all the stakeholders such as the participating teams and the sponsor.

He apologized for the inconvenience caused by the cancellation of the finals on behalf of the association to the supporters and sponsors.

Matlama has Lawrence Molengoane, Thapelo Mokhehle and Lerata Ts'along in the local under 23 team which lost 3-1 to Ghana 3-1 in their opening match.
