BIBLE SOCIETY
LAUNCHES HIV/AIDS MATERIALS |
Bible Society of
Lesotho will launch HIV/AIDS Materials at the function to be
held at the society’s premises on Thursday next week.
The materials include cassettes, videos, DVDs and books.
The Society's General Secretary, Mr. Inahaneng Tsekane said
with the HIV/AIDS materials, the society aims to strengthen
the existing strategies in the fight against the pandemic by
empowering HIV/AIDS support organisations to use the
biblical approach in fighting the pandemic.
The Society has invited all organisations engaged in
HIV/AIDS support programmes to learn how to use the
materials, Mr. Tsekane said, noting that since there is
still no cure for HIV/AIDS, they encourage the use of bible
by the public as its readings have messages that will give
them hope.
He further said the society seeks to incorporate HIV/AIDS in
its teachings, hence the development of HIV/AIDS materials.
He indicated that the materials tackle a variety of HIV/AIDS
related issues, which will be useful in increasing HIV/AIDS
knowledge amongst the public, while giving hope to the
infected and affected.
During the launch, he said, organisations will be given
packages of HIV and AIDS materials to be distributed to the
public, adding that the society will make follow-ups to
establish whether materials have been fairly distributed and
so to assess their impact on the public.
