BAHLABANI TO TAKE ON NAMIBIA, BOTSWANA IN U-17 COSAFA

Lesotho's under
17 national side ‘Bahlabani’ will take on the host nation
Namibia and Botswana in Group A in the forth coming Council
of Southern Africa Football Association (COSAFA)
Championship billed in Windhoek.
The tournament will kick start on December 08 to 15 later
this year, where 12 nations are expected to participate.
In Group B, Mozambique will play Swaziland and Zambia while
in Group C, Madagascar, Mauritius and South Africa will play
each other with the final Group D consisting of Angola,
Malawi and Zimbabwe.
Meanwhile, Lesotho Football Association (LEFA) Technical
Director of women and Youth development Mr. Seephephe 'Mochine'
Matete has confirmed that Bahlabani will participate at the
tournament.
'We have already met with the coaches and even players have
been selected and the programme is in place. The training
will resume on Monday,' he explained.
He said, Likhopo mentor, Mr. Bishop Molatoli will be head
coach of the team and that he will be assisted by the U-15
coach Mr. Matita Lemao.
The tournament whose purpose is to develop and mould young
footballers at grassroots level and give them early exposure
in the region has received financial backing from Supersport
to a tune of M500 000.00, M175 000.00 from Confederation of
African Football (CAF) as well as the Namibian government.
