Mokhotlong, May 25 - The World Food Program (WFP) is currently distributing 30 Fuel Efficient Stoves (FES) to primary schools in Mokhotlong. The WFP School Feeding Monitor Ms. Maliako Posholi said their aim is to see every child having lunch at school. She indicated that they are donating two stoves to each school, which does not have a kitchen. She indicated that during the rainy weather's, lunch is not served in schools because cookers would not cook in the weather. She explained that the stoves do not consume much of the fuel because they are the good conductors of heat and keep it for sometime. Ms. Posholi stated that the snow which has been falling in Mokhotlong since last week has been a hindrance to distribute the stoves because most of the schools are located in the mountains where they cannot be easily reached. "Our main goal is to see every child having lunch because some of the children come from the poor families which can not even provide a single meal for the day," she added. |
