FOUR UNIVERSITIES CONVERGE ON DRAMA AT NUL
  Maseru, June 21 - More than twenty students and lecturers from four Universities will embark on a three-week Residency Winter Summer Institute Meeting to be held at the National University of Lesotho (NUL) starting from June 22.

The Regional Coordinator of the meeting, Professor Katt Lissard said the meeting will bring together five students and two lecturers from each of the Universities of Wits in South Africa, Sunderland in the United Kingdom, State University of New York in America while NUL being the host will bring seven students and three lecturers.

She said the purpose of the meeting is to grant an opportunity for the participants to work together to create a drama that is intended to address HIV/AIDS issues, gossip and silence in their respective areas.

Professor Lissard explained that the Winter Summer Institute that will be launched on Friday June 23, will come up with a drama that conveys the message of HIV/AIDS, adding that the drama is an outreach initiative which is intended to address the critical need for information, knowledge and understanding of HIV/AIDS as well as gossip and silence in relation with the disease.

She further stated that the participants will perform a drama at NUL on July 03 and at Maseru Sun on July 04. The team, she said, will then proceed to Malealea Valley in the Mafeteng district on the following day where they will be working with the communities in creating a theatre for development, to enable the community to talk about issues that affect them.

The performance will be on July 11.
