FIVE LOCAL U-15 PLAYERS HEAD FOR ITALY

Maseru, May 30 - Five members of national U-15 squad have been selected to go for training in Rome, Italy for two weeks starting from July 15 to 30 this year.

This follows an offer from the Italian Football Association which has extended an invitation to Lesotho Football Association (LEFA) to send five players to attend an intensive soccer training at one of their soccer academy in that country.

In an interview, LEFA Chief Executive Officer Mr. Kholoang Mokalanyane said the players were selected from the U-15 national side that represented the country in Gaborone, Botswana recently.

'We identified the best five players from that team as it was very inclusive of players from many parts of the country,' he remarked.

He pointed out that they are currently finalising documentation necessary for the players.

On the other hand, the manager of U-15 national side Mr. Baba Malephane will accompany the players to Italy.

Mr. Malephane told LENA that he identified the players as Tokelo Jankie (14), Tšele Molorane (15), Pasane Pasane (15), Pitso Monne (14) and Litšoane Koetle (15).

He said while in Italy, he would try to establish lasting relationship with the Academy so that local players could attend training on annual basis in order to boost football at youth level.

This is the first time in the history of Lesotho soccer that players under the age of 15 are invited for a training camp in Italy.
