The Ministry of Trade and Industry, Cooperatives and Marketing is currently holding a national workshop on trade negotiations skills at Victoria Hotel.

The Principal Secretary of the Ministry Mr Mohlomi Rantekoa says the purpose of the workshop which started on Monday is to provide negotiations skills that are envisaged to assist Lesotho to form her position in the current and forthcoming negotiations for free trade negotiations and preferential trade agreements.

He says approaches to trade negotiations:the Case of Lesotho, Negotiating Trade in Services and Trade Negotiations simulation will be dealt with.

He mentions that the workshop comes at the right time when Lesotho has been recently elected as a Chairperson of the SADC and they are faced with challenges pertaining to trade issues.

He says that this is the first workshop of its nature, and it is attended by experts in trade issues drawn from the Government and private sector.
