HOSTS A VISITOR FROM UK |
-The
Director of Leonard Cheshire International in the United
Kingdom, Mrs. Tanya Barron is on a three day visit at St.
Angela Cheshire Home of the disabled in Lesotho.
Mrs Barron arrived in the country on Sunday, and during her
stay, she is expected to pay courtesy call at the Royal
Palace, to meet with officials in the Department of Social
Welfare and to address children
with disability at St Angela.
Speaking at the Press Conference held at Skillshare
International Offices on Monday, Mrs Barron said the purpose
of her visit is to seek an understanding on issues relating
to disabilities in Lesotho as well as to establish how
Cheshire services could assist Basotho to empower people
with disabilities.
She said since the establishment of St. Angela thus 21years
ago, the home has portrayed an outstanding performance thus
ensuring that children with disabilities are given an
opportunity to education.
She indicated that the centre has always provided quality
health care for children as they are equipped
with counselling skills that build them physically and
mentally.
This is her first visit to Lesotho and she will leave on
Tuesday.
