QUEEN COMMENDS DURHAM LINK
Her Majesty Queen 'Masenate Mohato Bereng Seeiso, has commended Durham Link for engaging in programs which provide young people with life skills.

Officially opening the Link’s guest rooms at its premises on Wednesday, Her Majesty said through the link's activities Basotho youth are gaining knowledge and also learn about the HIV/AIDS pandemic.

She thanked the delegation from Durham Link girls’ High school in England for providing support for the construction of the rooms, adding that their support should be taken as a challenge to churches and societies to work hard so that Lesotho can be self reliant as a country.

At the same occasion, the Executive Officer of the link, Mr Stephen Mabula said through the guest rooms, the link will provide accommodation to students who undergo trainings.

He said the girls have been engaged in different activities such as painting two schools and an orphanage home, and have also helped other orphanages with food and clothes hence their contribution towards Lesotho’s economy is unmeasured.

The head of delegation from Durham Link girls high school and a teacher, Mrs Geraldine Clarke said as the Link, they feel more privileged to see the building completed, as their aim is to help African countries develop.

She said they will encourage other people in England to donate and help Basotho people with anything they can afford, so as to keep the good relationship which has existed for 20 years.

The guest rooms consisted of 6 bedrooms, which accommodate 6 people each, a kitchen, 2 toilets and a pantry.

The Link was funded with R250 000.00.
