PHELA TAKES
PART IN 16 DAYS OF ACTIVISM |
PHELA
Health and Development Communications will launch a book
based on violence and abuse of women at Butha-Buthe on
December 08.
The
launch is part of the commemoration of 16 Days of Activism
Against Gender Violence.
The book
is written in English and Sesotho to reach a wider audience.
The titles are 'Help Stop Women Abuse' and 'Kenya
Letsoho Ho Ruta Batho Ka Tlhekefetso Ea Basali'.Both
versions will be launched together with the second
episode of PHELA Radio drama, Musa Pelo, which will be aired
in March next year. Part One of the drama started
running last month and deals with HIV/AIDS and human
rights issues, among others.
The book
is entitled 'Help Stop Women Abuse' while the Sesotho one is
entitled 'Kenya Letsoho Ho Ruta Batho Ka Tlhekefetso Ea
Basali'.
PHELA
Advocacy and Marketing Manager Ms. Bolele Monyau said the
book will provide readers with information on what is
abuse, different forms of abuse, how can they be
identified and reported. The research on which the
book is based focuses mainly on the abuse of women, with men
being the main culprits.
